Last week, a cow escaped death by fleeing from a slaughterhouse in Queens. The cow wasn't about to follow the herd to her doom, and she bolted, breaking through a fence and rushing past cars in the borough. An hour later, the police caught the frightened animal --now nicknamed "Molly"-- about a mile from the slaughter house in Jamaica.
Molly is now safe and sound and living on the Farrm (yes, that's how they spell it!)--- a 60-acre organic farm in Calverton, owned by Rex and Connie Farr. The farm raises organic produce and also takes in rescued animals, ranging from chickens to a pony and a steer named Wexler. How's that for a happy ending? The Long Island story made headlines around the world.
