Old Westbury Gardens presents its enchanting Midsummer Night event on Saturday, June 12, 2010 (rain date: June 26.) Lanterns will flicker and there will be entertainment. Bring a blanket and a picnic basket and relax on the sprawling lawns, where music and dance inspired by Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and dancing evoking the choreography of Isadora Duncan will entertain you.

  • A 6 p.m. performance in the Boxwood Garden near the massive marble pillars of the Colonnade with live music composed by Strauss, Chopin, and Gluck.
  • A 7 p.m. performance in the charming setting of the Thatched Cottage Garden, featuring works by Shubert.
  • An 8 p.m .performance on the South Lawn of Westbury House with music by Schubert and Mendelssohn.
