Released around the world between 1959 and 1960, The Diary of Anne Frank told the poignant story of a young Jewish girl in the Netherlands whose family went into hiding from the Nazis. Tragically, they were later found by the Gestapo and Anne perished in a death camp.
Despite her hardships when she and her family lived in a small, secret attic, Anne Frank believed in human good and had hopes for a bright future. She wrote in her diary. "..... when I look up at the sky, I somehow feel that everything will change for the better, that this cruelty too shall end, that peace and tranquility will return once more."
