Need a LIRR Schedule? Now You Can Text For Info

By August 28, 2011

Follow me on:

The MTA has a program that will help you get Long Island Railroad schedules, learn in real time about service delays and other updates, all sent instantly to your cell phone.

LIRR customers without web-enabled cell phones can now just send a text to get immediate info, and there is no charge for the service. Just text your station-to-station schedule request, such as "Penn to Port Washington," and send to 266266 to receive schedules. The service is provided through a pilot program with Long Island based firm CooCoo.

This service rocks! .. when the railroad has problems, it’s the ONLY place that has accurate information about delays, cancellations, and how my schedule is affected.
PS: They also have, flight schedules, movie times, ferry schedules, sports scores & stats. Also, if you want to see a schedule beginning on Long Island and ending in New Jersey, CooCoo has the schedule. Sweet
