Hicks Nurseries Teams Up With Long Island Cares To Help Victims of Hurricane Sandy

Hicks Nurseries, in partnership with Long Island Cares, is currently a distribution point for food and donations for victims of Hurricane Sandy and the nor'easter. Starting now and continuing through the end of the year, the nursery will be collecting items to help Long Islanders who have been affected by the storms and are currently in dire need.

Items in particular need are:

  • bottled water
  • pouch drinks
  • new blankets
  • hats
  • gloves
  • scarves
  • underwear
  • household cleaners
  • personal care items
  • pet food and
  • non-perishable food

Those wishing to donate items are asked to bring them to the nursery at 100 Jericho Turnpike in Westbury, NY, seven days a week for fast delivery to Long Island Cares for redistribution. Store hours are: Saturday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 pm, and open late on Fridays until 8 p.m. For more information, please call (516) 334-0066.
