All those with a sweet tooth looking to indulge their craving for chocolate should make a point of visiting the upcoming Chocolate World Expo, to be held at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, NY on Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The event, also known as CWE, will feature tastings as well as sales of ...well, chocolates.... in addition to baked goods, gelato, cheese, specialty foods, wines and more from 70 local and regional vendors. There will also be beer tastings and sales. Some vendors will also feature organic, vegan, salt-free, gluten-free or kosher products.
Tickets are $15 per adult and $10 for children ages 2 to 12, and include admission to the Cradle of Aviation Museum's exhibits (normally $14 per adult and $12 per child) plus one free ride on Nunley's Carousel (regularly $2 per person.) In addition, this includes free admission to the Nassau County Firefighters Museum (reguarly $5 for adults and $4 for children.) You can buy tickets online.
Visitors can also purchase tickets for the museum's Jet Blue Planetarium, X-RIDE Flight Simulator ride .
They are also conducting a food drive for the Harry Chapin Food Bank - Long Island Cares. A Long Islanc Cares van will be parked outside the museum to collect nonperishable items. (You don't have to buy tickets or enter the museum to make a food donation.)
The organizers note that if you want to avoid the largest crowds, that you come later in the day.
