NYS Superintendent of Financial Services Benjamin M. Lawsky announced today that representatives of the Department of Financial Services will be in Suffolk County on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, to help renters, homeowners and business owners who have insurance-related issues stemming from Superstorm Sandy damage.
Representatives from the department will be available to meet with residents inside the agency's Mobile Command Center, which will be stationed at the Copiague Memorial Public Library, 50 Deauville Boulevard, Copiague, NY, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on that day.
The representatives will help residents to contact their insurers if they haven't been able to do so and they will answer questions about insurance coverage.
If you are unable to meet at the Mobile Command Center, you may call the department's storm hotline at (800) 339-1759, any time from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, or from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
