Guide Review - Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and Aquarium
The Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium began as a New York State trout hatchery and operated as such for 99 years. In 1982, it opened as an educational facility with a demonstration hatchery where brook, brown, and rainbow trout are raised. Visitors may purchase food to feed to the fish. Two aquarium buildings house 30 species of freshwater fish native to New York State, aquatic reptiles, and amphibians which are also native to New York State. The Hatchery also offers educational programs to schools and other groups. While you're there, follow Rt. 25A East to Main Street, the heart of lovely Cold Spring Harbor.
