Students in grades four through 12, or in their freshman year of college, can simply go online to receive homework help from certified tutors in math, science, English, and social studies. This tutoring service is only available to patrons of participating libraries. To get free online tutoring, students can go to their library's Web Site, click on the Live Homework Help link or logo, and then enter their library card number as requested (it's the number beneath the barcode). This service is available daily, including weekends, between the hours of 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. for Nassau County library patrons, and from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. for Suffolk County library patrons. Here is a list of participating libraries on Long Island. Check with your library, if it isn't listed here, to find out if they plan to offer this service in the future.
