Long Island Easter Events for the Family
This article is updated every year, usually a few weeks before the actual events. Here are the events for 2014:

Easter falls on Sunday, April 20, 2014 this year, but there are also lots of events before and after that date. Here are some great places to take the kids for Easter on Long Island.

Saturday, April 12, 2014 
What: The Easter Bunny makes an appearance at Northport Village Park, (See also April 20 listing for the Easter Egg Hunt in Northport)
When: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Northport Village Park, Bayview Avenue and Main Street, Northport, NY.
Cost: FREE.

What: Spectacular Springtime at Sands Point Preserve. Join in for a springtime celebration with live furry animals that symbolize the season --rabbits and chinchillas-- and photo ops with the Easter Bunny. Givit the Great Hall of Crafts, search for hidden eggs on the Dino Trail, and participate in "egg-cellent" outdoor activities for preschoolers.

There will also be indoor Bubblemania indoor performances at 1:15 and 2 p.m.

When: The preserve is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. You are welcome to enjoy the preserve all day long for this special event.

Wednesday, April 16 to Friday, April 18, and Saturdays: April 19 and 26, 2014
What: The Adventures of Peter Rabbit. Children will love seeing the story of Peter Rabbit, Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton Tail and Benjamin Bunny come to life onstage.
When: 11 a.m.
Where: Theatre Three, 412 Main Street, Port Jefferson
Cost: Tickets - $10

Friday, April 18, 2014
What: Quogue Wildlife Refuge - Eggstravaganza. For children ages 5 to 12 years of age. Inspect the refuge egg and nest collection for ideas on creating your own fun nest craft. It's a good idea to bring a smock or an old shirt with you. You'll decorate your own "nests" and color and decorate hard-boiled eggs to bring home. 
When: Session I: 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and Session II: 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Where: Quogue Wildlife Refuge, 3 Old Country Road, East Quogue, NY.
Cost: $5 per child. Space is limited. Reservations required.

What:Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center - Annual Egg-stravaganza.
When: Session 1: Toddlers only - 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Seesion 2: Children 4 to 10 years of age - 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Seesion 3: Children 4 to 10 years of age - 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Where: Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center, 134 Cove Road, Oyster Bay, NY
Cost: $8 per nonmembers child, $5 per child/members, adults: suggested $2 donation. Space is limited. Reservations required.

What: Annual Spring Egg Hunt at Deepwells Farm County Park for children up to 10 years of age.  Please bring a basket, and a camera to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.
When: 11 p.m. Note: Cancelled in case of rain or inclement weather.
Where: Route 25! and Moriches Road, NY.
Cost: FREE.

Saturday, April 19, 2014
What: Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Garden City Hotel. Take the kids to this breakfast buffet. Each table will include items for families to decorate eggs together and the hotel's special guests, the Easter Bunny, will make an appearance.
When: Seatings between 11 a.m .and 3 p.m. in the hotel's Posh space with pre=paid reservations.
Where: Garden City Hotel, 45 Seventh Street, Garden City, NY.
Cost: $32.95 per person plus tax and tip for children and adults.

What: Quogue Wildlife Refuge - Annual Egg Hunt. For children ages 2 to 4 years of age accompanied by an adult. Create a bunny craft and then hop on down Peter Cottontail's Trail to a special spot in the refuge for an egg hunt. Each child in attendance will receive a special gift.
When: Session I: 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Session II: 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
Where: Quogue Wildlife Refuge, 3 Old Country Road, East Quogue, NY.
Cost: $10 per child. Space is limited. Reservations required.
