Outback Steakhouse wants to thank our veterans and active military by offering a free Bloomin' Onion and a Coca Cola. Their site says: The FREE Bloomin’ Onion® and Coca-Cola® promotion is open to Military Personnel who have one of the following forms of identification on November 7-11, 2011: U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Veterans Organization Card (i.e., American Legion and VFW), DD214 Certificate, Veteran Identification Card (VIC), Photograph in Uniform or Wearing Uniform. The FREE beverage will be customer’s choice of any Coca-Cola® product.

Parade starts at 10:45 a.m. at athe First Presbyterian Church in Meeting House Lane, continues southwest on Jobs Lane and ends on Veterans Memorial Hall on Ponds Lane in Southampton. FREE admission. Applebee'sr will thank our nation's veterans and active duty military by inviting them to their neighborhood Applebee's for a well-deserved FREE meal. A selection of complimentary entrees will be available for these local heroes on this day as dine-in guests at all Applebee's restaurants throughout the United States, including all 21 Long Island Applebee's.

Long Island Children's Museum - Children's program for all ages: A Letter to My Hero Saturday, November 12 from 2 to 4 p.m.

Visit the Long Island Children's Museum during Veteran’s Day weekend as they commemorate all the brave men and women that serve our country every day. Veteran’s Day was once called Armistice Day, and it marked the day that all countries signed the armistice that signaled the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. Help honor our heroes by sending them special letters of thanks. All ages. Free with museum admission.
