Put on your finest green clothing, a pair of emerald-colored shoes, and maybe a “Kiss Me – I’m Irish” pin to top off your outfit. Then head out to one of the many St. Patrick’s Day celebrations on Long Island. Here’s a sampling of some of the events.

Saturday, March 10, 2012
The Annual Bay Shore/Brightwaters St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade mass begins at noon at St. Patrick's Church, 9 North Clinton Avenue, Bay Shore. At 2 p.m. sharp, the St. Patrick's Day Parade starts at Saxon Avenue and travels west onto Main Street (Montauk Highway) 1.6 miles to St. Patrick's Church and the reviewing stand. Long Island’s oldest and largest parade of its kind, the 77th Annual Huntington St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 2 p.m., north of the Huntington Station along New York Avenue, then turns west onto Main Street, and ends at Saint Patrick’s Church.

The 21st Annual Bayport-Blue Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade,, starting at at 11:30 a.m. from Snedecor Avenue to Blue Point Avenue along Montauk Highway, usually entertains 25,000 onlookers.

The 62nd Annual Miller Place-Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Roads close at noon. Parade starts at 1 p.m.
Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18
The Long Island Children's Museum presents an exploration of traditional Irish music - Celtic Fun with Darlene Graham and the shades of Green Band on Saturday, 3/17/12 and Sunday, 3/18/12 at 2 p.m. For ages 3 and up. Fee: $4 with museum admission ($3 LICM members) -- or $8 theater only.
And only on Saturday, March 12 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. - Kid can create Lucky Leprechaun Finger Puppets and bring them home. For all ages. Free with museum admission.

Saturday, March 24
At 12 noon, Rockville Centre presents its 16th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Info: Rockville Centre St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Sunday, March 25
Starting at 10 a.m., Montauk will host its 50th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, starting at Edgemere Road. More info: Montauk Friends of Erin.
Starting at 10 a.m., before the parade, chowder made and donated by local restaurants will be served on the Montauk Green in your very own St. Patrick's Day souvenir mug.
Sunday, March 25
If you haven’t celebrated so far, here’s your last chance. The 17th Annual Patchogue St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicks off on Main Street.
