Long Island Walking Clubs

ADK Long Island
This local chapter of the Adirondack Montain Club hikes in the Hudson Highlands, Catskills, and Adirondacks. Chapter meetings are in Melville at 8:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month (except July & August).

The Long Island Walkers Club
Meet on Saturday mornings in Eisenhower Park. Also offers the opportunity to learn to race walk.

North Shore Fitness Walkers
Meets three mornings a week at the Sunken Meadow Beach Boardwalk. There are no fees.

WalkUSA
This racewalking team meets in Happauge for practices and long walks.

Where to Walk on Long Island

Valley Stream State Park
This park has a walking course that features a half mile loop.

Eisenhower Park
This Nassau County park has a two mile fitness trail that features 20 stations.

Christopher Morley Park
Located in Roslyn and North Hills, this park has a one mile fitness trail with 20 stations.

Oyster Bay Co-Ed Mall Walking Program
There is no fee for this program that meets at Broadway Mall in Hicksville and Sunrise Mall in Massapequa. Town residents should call the Recreation Division of the Town of Oyster Bay Parks Department at (516) 797-4126 for details.

Smith Haven Mall Walkers Club
Meets the last Wednesday of every month. Sponsored by Smith Haven Mall and Stony Brook University Hospital.
