You take one last look at a harbor seal as you get ready to head home. The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation offers cruises to delight visitors and to make the public aware of the wealth of marine life that swims in our waters.

In addition, the foundation is the only organization in New York State that is authorized to rescue and rehabilitate sick or injured marine mammals and sea turtles. The animals are placed in the Riverhead Foundation's hospital facility, based within Atlantis Marine World. The foundation's goal is to return these animals to the water after they have been treated by the foundation's staff veterinarians.

If you see a marine mammal or sea turtle that you think may need help, please call the Riverhead Foundation's 24-hour hotline at (631) 369-9829.

For more information on current prices and dates of cruises, please go to The Riverhead Foundation website or call (631)369-9840.
