2. Cradle of Aviation Museum

You and your children can host a party with up to 25 guests in this wonderful museum that celebrates Long Island’s many contributions to the history of flight. Highlights include a tour of the museum, treasure hunt and a paper craft activity. Pizza and soft drinks will be served. Invitations and a party host are provided by the museum.

3. Long Island Children’s Museum

Have a fun party at this wonderful children’s museum. Choose from a number of themes for kids from ages 2 through 12. Children ages 2-5 can enjoy themes like Messy Merriment and TotSpot Party, while older kids, ages 5-12 can explore topics like Weird Science.

4. Garvies Point Museum and Preserve

This fun and educational museum is a center for research on Long Island geology and archaeology. Exhibits explain the Island’s geology and focus on the Native Americans who lived in this area. The preserve is a 62-acre stretch of glacial moraine with forests and meadows with hiking trails down to the shore, where plant fossils and clay were deposited here 70 million years ago at the end of the Age of Dinosaurs. Children can pick from three party themes: Discovering Dinosaurs for ages 4-7, a Native American Theme for ages 5-10 and a Nature Theme for ages 5-10.

5. Great Neck Arts Center

The GNAC can customize a birthday party for your child with themes like “Musical Me,” recommended for ages 1 to 3 years. It includes a musical activity, pizza and cake. For children ages 5+, there are other programs including a ceramics theme, dance, art or drama. Call for current prices.

6. Brightwaters Farms and Nursery

You can rent the Party Room with two party hostesses for two hours. Brightwater Farms provides plates, cups, napkins, goodie bag, invitations and more. Your child’s guests will enjoy pizza or chicken fingers, juice and a sheet cake. Choose from themes like Fun on the Farm, where children feed farm animals and enjoy a hayride and a visit to the Little Farmers Playground. Or opt for a Garden Tea Party, Giant Inflatables Play Party and more.

7. Tackapausha Museum and Preserve

This 84-acre preserve offers five miles of marked trails that meander through oaks forests with tranquil ponds and streams. Over 170 species of birds including ruby-throated hummingbirds fly through this natural area. The museum features exhibits about animals and Long Island’s ecology, and also has interactive activities for the kids. Birthday parties can only be arranged on weekends.

8. White Post Farms

Children will be thrilled to invite their friends to a White Post Farms party, where guests get to ride real ponies. Children will also get to hand-feed or bottle-feed animals. Parties are available all year long. During warm weather, parties are held outdoors, but the farm features heated rooms for chilly winter days, and in case of rain, there’s an indoor pony riding area. 9. Party with the Long Island Ducks

If your child’s birthday falls on a date during baseball season, take up to 10 guests to watch the Long Island Ducks play in Citibank Park in Central Islip. The birthday party package includes 10 box seats, Ducks souvenir logo baseballs, one baseball autographed by a Ducks player, and more.

10. Atlantis Marine World

Treat your child to an Atlantis Marine World’s Aquatic Birthday Party, which includes a tour of the sprawling aquarium, a party room with party host, reserved seating at the Sea Lion Show, unlimited rides on the Submarine Simulator and Discovery Tower and more.
