Long Island Elected Officials

Find Out Who Your Elected Officials Are

By Dawn Rosenberg McKay, About.com

Your local elected officials are great resources when you have a problem with the Federal or New York State government or with Nassau County or Suffolk County or a local municipality. After you've exhausted all avenues, contact your local Long Island elected official's office for help. Here are some resources that you can use to find out who your local elected officials are.

Elected Officials in Nassau County

My Nassau
My Nassau, on the Nassau County Web Site, provides information on local, county, state, and federal officials. This resource also provides road management, school district, police, and fire district information. Type your home address into the form to find out who your local elected officials and other government officials are. Please note that My Nassau works well if you use Internet Explorer, but inconsistently with Firefox.

Elected Officials in Suffolk County

Directory of Public Officials in Suffolk County
This resource, from the Suffolk County League of Women Voters lists elected officials in the Federal, State, County, and local governments. There is also a link to Suffolk County Legislative Committees and county departments and agencies.
