Parking permits are required for these beaches, all of which are operated by the Village of East Hampton. Non-residents may purchase parking permits for the season. How to Get to East Hampton

By Car: East Hampton is about 102 miles from midtown Manhattan. You can drive there in approximately two and a quarter hours, if you don't hit traffic. It is likely you will though, especially on a weekend.

Public Transportation

  • Long Island Railroad from Manhattan: Take the LIRR from Penn Station, located at W. 34th Street and Seventh Avenue to East Hampton (East Hampton LIRR Schedule). Hamptons Reserve Service is available in the Summer.
  • From JFK International Airport: Take the AirTrain to the LIRR Jamaica Station and get a train to East Hampton.
  • LaGuardia International Airport or Macarthur Airport: Take a taxi to East Hampton.
  • Hampton Jitney: The Hampton Jitney provides motorcoach bus service from Manhattan, Queens (convenenient to JFK and LaGuardia), and Islip (near MacArthur Airport).
