The Hamptons, as we refer to the villages and hamlets on the South Fork of Eastern Long Island, New York, is a world renowned vacation spot that includes, going west to east, Westhampton Beach, Quogue, Southampton, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor, East Hampton, Amagansett and Montauk. Westhampton, often called "the first Hampton," is under 70 miles from midtown Manhattan, at least one and half hours by car. Montauk, on the eastern tip of Long Island, is 112 miles from midtown, at least a two and a half hour drive.

- The Hampton Jitney, a motorcoach bus service, provides service from Manhattan, Queens (convenenient to JFK and LaGuardia), and Islip (near MacArthur Airport).
