Walking and Driving Tour of Cold Spring Harbor

Then take a short drive to the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum on Main Street. Here, you'll learn about the village's whaling history through permanent and changing exhibits. On view is an actual 19th century whaling boat with harpoons. The museum features a collection of scrimshaw --- carvings on whale teeth made by sailors during those long whaling voyages. There are children's programs throughout the year, and especially during school breaks.
