Third Annual Artists And Writers Charity Softball Game in Merrick Park, East Hampton, NY. Batting practice at noon. Game time: 2 p.m. This fun-filled, family-friendly game is a tradition that pits local and celebrity artists against local and celebrity writers for an afternoon of comedy softball and genuine charity awareness and support.

The 51st Annual Scottish Games, Old Westbury Gardens, 71 Old Westbury Road,, Old Westbury, 8-5 p.m. Ceremony 12:30 p.m. Bagpipes, caber tossing, concerts, food and kids’ games. The Long Island Scottish Clan MacDuff hosts. Special Games admissions: $15 adults; $10 over 62; $5 children (ages 7-12) and members; children ages 6 and under free.

The 36th Annual Hampton Classic Horse Show, Highlights this year include the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup™ Qualifier on Sunday, September 4, featuring Olympians, World Champions and USEF veterans. This year, for the first time, The Hampton Classic will host a $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby on Saturday, September 3.
