This month on Long Island, great events & free concerts abound. From concerts-and-wine events and the renowned Hampton Classic horse show, there's plenty to do and see on Long Island throughout August.

Nassau County Museum of Art's Outdoor Sculpture Garden features 50+ sculptures by Botero, Calder and more, displayed outdoors on the museum's sprawling property. Ongoing Till November

Every Thursday night from 5-8 p.m., enjoy Twilight Thursdays at the Wolffer Estate Vineyard, with free live music. Buy wine by the glass, and purchase cheese plates to go with your drinks. The events are held at the Wolffer Estate Vineyard, 129 Sagg Road, Sagaponack. No reservations necessary and no cover charge. Also at Wolffer: Sunset Fridays, through October. From 5 till sunset, enjoy live music. No cover charge. Buy wine by the glass. Feel free to dance!

Ongoing Tuesday Evenings

Join the Peconic Land Trust and the Amagansett Farmers Market for Souper Tuesdays, an evening of food, wine & conversation at the Amagansett Farmers Market. Every Tuesday in August from 5 to 7 p.m.

Farmers from different farms, including Quail Hill Farm, Sunset Beach Farm and more will be on hand each week. Vegetables from the farms will be used each week in a soup prepared by the chefs at the Amagansett Farmers Market.

$6/cup of soup and bread or bring your own bowl: $5.

Michael Cinque from Amagansett Wines and Spirits will be hosting tastings of local wines each week.

Ongoing Thursday Nights & Wednesday Afternoons - Eisenhower Park

Continuing from its start in July, the Lakeside Theater at Eisenhower Park (parking in Field 6A) will show weekly movies on Thursdays on a giant screen, including Justin Bieber in "Never Say Never," as well as family favorites & classics. All movies are FREE and begin at dusk. No formal seating in the theater, so please bring a chair or blanket.

Also, from noon to 2 on Wednesdays, by the shady area near Field 6A, free concerts. However, a leisure passport is required.

The Islip Arts Council presents FREE concerts in the summer, every Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum, 440 Montauk Highway, Great River. For the schedule, please go to the Islip Arts Council or call (631) 224-5420.

Family Sundays at the Museum are offered every week at the Nassau County Museum of Art. The program includes supervised art activities for children and their adults, family gallery talks and family-friendly gallery guides. The family tour is at 1 p.m., and art activities begin at 1:30 p.m. The program is free with museum admission.

The Long Island Children's Museum, 11 Davis Avenue, Garden City, offers a number of programs & performances. Here are two of the many options: Summer Saturdays meet in Our Backyard between 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

In case of bad weather, session held in the Inner Lobby. For all ages. Free with museum admission.
