Every Saturday night at 10 p.m., the Bay Street Theater presents its Cabaret @ The Bay, when the lobby is open to musical performers from the East End to New York City. The Fourth Annual Long Island Comedy Festival brings together some of the best entertainers on the Island. Performances are at various venues, including the Bellmore Theater, the Gateway Playhouse in Bellport and Landmark on Main Street in Port Washington. Celebrate "Over the Moon" month at the Long Island Children's Museum in July as the museum begins a month-long look at the night sky through folklore, science and history.Take a tour of the night sky in an inflatable planetarium on loan from the American Museum of Natural History. Shows are at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. The fee is $3 (plus museum admission.)
The Long Island Children’s Museum is located at 11 Davis Avenue, Garden City. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Museum admission is $10 for adults and children over 1 year old, $9 seniors, FREE to museum members and children under 1 year old. FREE concert - At 2 p.m., the Islip Arts Council will sponsor the Swingtime Big Band, a 20-piece musical group known for their performances of music from the Swing Era and the Great American Songbook. The concert will take place at Bayard Cutting Arboretum, 440 Montauk Highway, Great River. The day's program will celebrate Benny Goodman’s 100th birthday, with performances of some of his greatest hits, as well as classics from bandleaders like Tommy Dosey, Count Basie, Glenn Miller and Gene Krupa. At 5 p.m., the Nassau County Museum of Art presents "Summer Sounds," a summer lawn concert of American music, performed by the South Shore Symphony. The program features the music of Leroy Anderson, John Phillip Sousa and Broadway tunes. Tickets: $15. Children 5 and under: free.Buy tickets at the gate. (No reservations or prior sales.) Arrive early and bring your own chairs or blankets. Take along a picnic basket so you can dine while enjoying the concert. Weekend admission to museum grounds is $2 per car.

Kids ages 4 to 12 will enjoy nature programs at the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary & Audubon Center at 134 Cove Road, Oyster Bay. There are several programs offered during the summer.
