With November's chilly air comes the beginning of the holiday spirit and outdoor activities for people who love winter. From outdoor birdwatching to upscale cocktail parties and musical events, there's plenty to do on Long Island this month.

The MiniArtMuseum for Children presents
But Who Will Bell The Cats?, an exhibition based on Cynthia von Buhler's new book. The MiniArtMuseum is located in its own building on the grounds of the Nassau County Museum of Art, One Museum Drive (just off Northern Boulevard, Route 25A, two traffic lights west of Glen Cove Road) in Roslyn Harbor. The museum is open 12 pm-4:30 pm Tuesday through Sunday (admission to just the children’s museum is $5 adults, $4 seniors, students and children ages 4-12).

Family Sunday at the Museum. Each Sunday, the Nassau County Museum of Art offers a 1 p.m. docent-led family walk-through of the exhibition, and beginning at 1:30 p.m., supervised art activities for the whole family. Family Sunday at the Museum is free with museum admission. The Nassau County Museum of Art is located at One Museum Drive (just off Northern Boulevard, Route 25A, two traffic lights west of Glen Cove Rd.) in Roslyn Harbor. The American Chamber Ensemble will present Musaic I, a concert featuring Schumann's Fairy Tales for clarient, viola and piano, Mendelssohn's Trio for violin, cello and piano and more.
