Target Rock National Wildlife Refuge Trail

After leaving Caumsett State Historic Park, get back onto Lloyd Harbor Road and continue East for a little more than 2 miles. The entrance to Target Rock National Wildlife Refuge will be on your right. The refuge was named for a huge boulder that juts out of Huntington Bay. Legend holds that during the Revolutionary War, British soldiers used the rock for target practice. The 80-acre refuge features trails through an oak-hickory forest and ponds.
