Parks With Enclosed Dog Runs

Your dog may be off-leash in these dog runs located in Long Island parks. These Nassau County and Suffolk County Parks allow you to keep your dog off-leash as long as he or she remains inside these enclosed dog runs. You must be a a responsible owner which includes making sure your dog behaves well toward other animals using the run and cleaning up after your dog.

Parks That Let You Bring Your Dog

While the following parks don't have enclosed dog runs, you can bring your dog there for a walk. Your dog must remain, at all times, on a leash that is at least six feet long. Owners must clean up after their pets. There are restrictions, as noted below.

*Dogs are allowed only in areas of the park north of Montauk Parkway, east of Napeague Harbor and west of overlook parking. Dogs are not allowed in camping, bathing, or picnic areas.

*Dogs are not allowed in picnic areas, protected bathing areas, and sanitary facilities.
