With soft lighting and dark wooden columns, Jonathan's is a great place to bring that special someone or to sit at a larger table for a family gathering or girls' night out. Although navigating through Huntington's traffic can be daunting at times, you'll find parking in the back of the restaurant. Delicious, delicately seasoned fish, meats and pasta dishes are served by an attentive staff.

Guide Review - Jonathan's Ristorante - Review of Jonathan's Ristorante, Huntington, NY

There are easily 17 other restaurants on the Wall Street, Huntington block where Jonathan's Ristorante serves lunch and dinner. But this elegant restaurant is a good first choice if you're looking for gourmet Italian food. There are many savory options at Jonathan's Ristorante, whether you and yours are in the mood for fish, poultry, meat or even meatless meals.

Among the many excellent antipasti offered, I recommend the Polenta con Funghi --sautéed wild mushrooms with soft polenta which was delightfully creamy and aromatic. My favorite appetizer is the Fritto di Carciofini -- delectably sautéed baby artichokes with basil oil. For an entree, I highly recommend the pumpkin ravioli with butter, sage, Amaretto aned Parmigiano. The night that my husband and I dined at the restaurant, there was also a full-flavored special consisting of ravioli with morels, asparagus and truffle oil. The taste was lively and multi-layered, like many of the meals at Jonathan's Ristorante.

Other excellent items on the menu are the Gamberi Puttanesca --tiger shrimp with olives, capers, tomato sauce and asparagus, and the grass-fed Black Angus shell steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Complement your meal with wines by the bottle or glass, with offerings like Taburno Falangina and Palazzo della Torre.

Desserts are heavenly. The vanilla pannacotta with fresh berries is light but filled with flavor. The pine nuts/rosemary tart with Tahitian vanilla gelato offers an amazing array of tastes that combine exquisitely to bring a flavorful conclusion to your meal. For maple syrup lovers, there's the luscious maple-mascarpone cheesecake, and you can't go wrong with the flourless chocolate cake with hazelnut gelato or the vanilla creme brulée.
