Guide Review - Louie's Oyster Bar & Grille Restaurant Review
My husband is a long-time fan of Louie's clams and oysters on the half shell. He's also a great fan of their New England clam chowder. For appetizers, I've often savored their fresh salads, like their superb blend of feta cheese, chickpeas, cucumbers, red onions, cherry tomatoes, sunflower seeds and sugar snap peas topped with a tangy grapefruit vinaigrette.
We've enjoyed many excellent entrees, including the orange and dill-glazed salmon. Fresh fish is marinated and then roasted in orange and dill with a dollop of Dijon mustard and served with asparagus. My husband also appreciates the Maryland crab cakes, baked and served with a tempting salsa and asparagus. We always order baked potatoes on the side, and they're some of the best-prepared potatoes ever.
Beyond seafood, Louie's offers meat dishes like their New York strip steak, Argentinean skirt steak and their sirloin burger, as well as items like balsamic glazed chicken.
My family and I rarely had enough room for dessert, but the restaurant has some great offerings for those with a sweet tooth. This includes a classic creme brulee, Key Lime pie and more.
If you're not a fan of cigarette smoke, ask for seats away from the doors opening to the outdoor deck. As the doors swing open, sometimes the smell of smoke enters the restaurant's interior.
Want value for your money? Louie's offers several great specials, including a $21.95 three course meal, available Monday through Saturday from 4-6:30 p.m. On Thursday nights, enjoy any bottle of wine on Louie's extensive list for half price.
A celiac-friendly menu is also available at Louie's.
