Long Island Thrift Shops

Where to Find Thrift Shops on Long Island

By , About.com Guide

Thrift shops have been around for a very long time, but in a shaky economy, these economical stores have a broader appeal. Most thrift shops offer clothing and shoes, but others feature household items and furniture as well. Here’s a sampling of some of the thrift shops on Long Island.

Northern Thrift

UPDATE: This great thrift shop in Huntington closed in the winter of 2009. I'm sure those who shopped there were sad to see it go. I'm leaving this up just to make sure everyone knows that it's not open. For similar bargains, check out Island Thrift, a sister store, listed below.

Island Thrift

700 Suffolk Avenue, Brentwood

This mega-store is filled with bargain clothing and shoes for men, women and children, furniture and home decorations, as well as books, toys, jewelry, seasonal items and some furniture. There are half-price specials for items with a designated ticket color of the day.
